Tesla MCU Keeps Rebooting in Park Mode When ESP32 Is Connected (Model Y HW3)

Hi, I’m having an issue with my Tesla Model Y (HW3).

Whenever the ESP32 is connected, the Tesla MCU (main touchscreen) keeps restarting repeatedly while the car is in Park mode.

The issue only occurs when the ESP32 is connected.

Is this a known issue? Has anyone experienced the same problem, and is there a fix for it?

I would really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for reporting it. No, it isn't a known issue, and I haven't had another report of the screen restarting. Until we know more, please unplug the board when you park.

To narrow it down I need a few things:

1. Which board is in the car, the Waveshare or the Atom Lite, and which firmware version (under Device on the dashboard)?
2. Where is it tapped (connector and pins), how is it powered (from the car or USB), and is the 120 Ω termination on the board switched on?
3. Is it in Active or Listen-Only when this happens, and which toggles are on? A screenshot of the Controls card covers it.
4. Does it still happen in Listen-Only? In Listen-Only the board sends nothing on the bus, so this one answer splits "something we transmit" from everything else.
5. How often does the screen restart, does it start right after you park or only after a while, and does it stop when you get in or press the brake?
6. If you can open the dashboard while it's happening, a screenshot of the Device card would help too. Uptime there shows whether the board is restarting as well.
